Yes, about six hundred Tigers that could’ve been toasted and roasted, very much like those archers from Page 583. In fact, had they got into the sewers and someone lighted up the methane, it’ll be the Khalira all over again, but with the immense smell of burnt fur and overdone meat.

Deserving of Death?

Tam’syn’s testimony makes it monumentally clear how heroic Kilani’s actions were. Faced by the Forces of Thunder And Flame Kilani stood firm and faced a swarm in the skies. Scyde doesn’t slide and comments on her capability to combat the contenders. Yet, when questioned about the veracity of the viewpoint that night Scyde supports the claim. Kiriad concerns are confirmed when the numbers of the battalion are made known. Thus it appears that Kilani, with her selfless shielding, saved hundreds of souls without a single sacrifice. The account appraises her actions.

Is Tam’syn the hand of hope Kilani holds in her heart or is it only a reprieve before the regression to regret?

Scyde’s pride seems to be the point of the proceedings. Quick judgement to kill Kilani could just be a grudge, or it could be to hide something worse – some failure on Scyde’s part that she doesn’t want known.

I’m increasingly thinking that without Kilani as a scapegoat, Scyde would have nobody else to blame for the past failure that cost all the armor and weaponsmiths but herself – and doing so could somehow strip away the big cat’s authority.
