Putting your finger on the scales already, Scyde? And not in the way of Kilani’s night with Cinder, but rather setting Kilani up to fail with the way her crime is initially described. How much difference a single tiger could have made, or if Kilani alone could have saved the mentioned smiths and armorers, is impossible to prove after the fact.
Also, Kilani doesnt seem to be restrained. Ignoring whether she could just climb out, filling in the pit around her shovel by shovel… well, she could just… move around to get on top of the dirt as it comes down? Doesn’t seem a terribly effective execution method, though with Kilani’s depression she’d probably just lie down and wait for it.
Some outside influence or perspective is needed here to stop the scapegoating from happening.
Kilani’s knight in shining armor had better hurry up!
Bury My Feelings…
Kilani now faces a cavern court under accusation of going AWOL. Her abandonment left an absence of wicked weapons and able armorers in her wake. The tigress had her motives for moving on, but can her crisis of conscience be a cause for confinement? Either way there are two outcomes: Either invoke your innocence or die under dirt.
Can Kilani absolve herself of any objections or will this be her dirt darkened dirge?
(P.S. Personally, I don’t see how one tiger running away resulted in there suddenly being a loss of combat capabilities.)
They need a scapegoat. Plus she left and raised a dragon baby (the Princess).
It’s the principle of the whole thing!
I applaud the active employment of alliteration for emphasis!
Thank you. I applaud my ability for alliteration.
I always anticipate your alliterative accounts recapping my recently-released comic content! It’s always a treat to read!
Buried alive ? Yikes.
The Tiger justice system isn’t to be trifled with!
I was wondering what would the tigers and dragons do if somone created a communication devie like a metal cannon ball spheare orb and they are able to speak the same language what would happen
I hope there will be a tiger lawer for her deffence
Someone had better speak up fast!
It’s pretty clear Scyde has already made up her mind if the pit is dug and the shovels are ready to go.
The honorable Judge Scyde runs a tight courtroom!
Ain’t no way she’s laying the lives of hundreds of tigers on a single deserter. If the entire assault could fail based on whether or not a single tiger left, lived or died, then the operation shouldn’t have happened.
Let’s hope Kilani can get back on Scyde’s good side!
I hadn’t thought about this, but you raise a good point. I wonder if Scyde wants Kilani to shoulder the blame of a past failure so that others (perhaps Scyde herself?) don’t have to.
OBJECTION, your Honor, Speculation! There’s no possible way to prove the lives of so many rested completely on the actions of an individual.
Good luck confronting “Judge Scyde” with that!
Putting all those losses on one tiger is some serious “for want of a nail” logic, barring a very direct link between her desertion and the casualties.
I do understand the seriousness of the scene and the symbolism of being buried alive, but this is a ridiculous execution method (to the level of breaking the suspension of disbelief). There is no way it would work. You just step over the new dirt until you are again at the terrain level. It would only work if the hole was much narrower (so narrow you cannot even escape by putting your hands in both sides), or the victim was fully tied with a rope, or they had a giant bag of dirt to throw in a single sweep.
