So Xhianil and Flare have made it this far in their Fire Legion tryouts, but can they survive the wrath of Red?

This has been an exhausting week, as it’s my first week back from last week’s convention excursion to Anime Weekend Atlanta.  I had a simply awesome time there, where I got to meet a bevy of new Draconiacs, along with longtime fans!  I also got to meet fellow Katboxer MasterGodai, who does our newest comic, Rascals!  I loved meeting each and every one of you, and in addition to that, a number of you were actually able to talk about the story in depth.  I can’t begin to tell you how cool that is.

For years, people who would approach me at conventions would have a passing knowledge of plot points and characters, but this year, you made it clear that you’ve been reading carefully!  I got to talk to people at length about the story, along with fielding excellent questions about the comic and even some cool suggestions.  The Kess/Kilani storyline seems to be big on people’s minds right now, and I assure you that they are not done.  There’s much more to be told on that one.  And more than a few people voiced their appreciation for the Xhianil storyline, as a lot of folks were able to relate to her time in the trenches of restaurant work.  For the past few years, I’ve been working really hard to make the comic’s characters the real stars of the show, and based on your responses, it sounds like it’s paying off!  Thanks for the feedback!

Atlanta brought me great times with awesome friends, including a raucous You Don’t Know Jack! tournament, sumptuous southern fried cuisine at the Marietta Diner, and a feast akin to the Great Foodening of Invader Zim lore at Fogo de Chão in swanky Buckhead, along with a full slate of commissions and even a few pre-orders for the forthcoming 2013 Draconia Chronicles Calendar.  The convention itself, as always, was run exceedingly well, with a great Artist Alley setup.  Overall, a most excellent, enjoyable, relaxing weekend full of food, folks, and fun.  Atlanta, count on me being back in 2013 when we’ll do this all over again.  In the words of Lady Red, “BANK ON IT!”

Welp, back to the weekly grind.  Page 303 isn’t going to write, pencil, ink, color, or letter itself.  ^__^
