I VOLUNTEER!!!!

Eone’s probably figured out that Gaia’s Obi-Wan Kenobie’d to another plane of existance, along with every other high-powered earth dragon in the realm. That being said, Gaia’s actions, manipulative nature and selfishness likely did more damage to the earther’s status over the long run. Off-panel, knowing the lengths she was willing to go to get what she wanted (just how did she get the commission to construct Lumina’s chambers, not to mention the whole egg fiasco), one could surmise that that she was not necessarily the most well-liked of her clan. From the clan leaders’ point of view, while tragic, Gaia’s demise might have been seen as something of a mixed blessing.

You bring up some very well though-out points. Many have viewed her death as a minus, but the points you bring up definitely highlight a few pluses. Well done! I love it when people can see things from both sides of the fence and realize that there’s at least two sides to every story. ^__^

So… they’re obviously not reptiles in the classic sense. I’m guessing both human skulls and some form of carnivore (clade) skull were used as references for that… both mammals. Would make sense for them to have a zygomatic arch to achieve lateral mouth movement, but it IS a distinctly mammalian feature. They also have rather distinctly mammalian teeth.
Yet the dragons don’t seem to have nipples… unless such things are just hidden like their apparent genitals are…

SO… to hazard a guess… these dragons are descended via a split line from Mesozoic mammaliformes….. or this world’s equivalent. Protomammals, in other words. The lovely intermediary stage between the Therapsids of the late Permian and the true mammals of the Cenozoic era.

Been re-reading earlier installments. The skull is probably Chiara’s mother’s. I believe her name was Flare(?). Apparantly she was a very well-liked dragon, which explains why Xianil went ballistic during practice.

Dunnow about there being four unsatisfied male tigers. Even before the sanctuary took a hit, the impression I had of the male/female ratio was that the ladies outnumbered the males by a fair degree (and not just the tigers, mind you). If you look at the m-f ratio in a population of real-world lions (adult males to females), the ratio would be about 1:5 to 1:7, give or take. In many ways the tigers in the Draconiverse are more lion-like than tiger-like.

Oh dear, I think she left it behind. Rather foolish when exploring something new, but maybe the rift started pulling her before she noticed.

The Uber is on her other arm.

Yes, I agree that it is on her right arm. But, observe. In panels three and five, she seems to have the uber covering all of her arms’ white sleeve fur. In panel six, her white fur on her right arm is clearly visible. Either it scooted down a little. (maybe as she changed position?) Or it wasn’t drawn in.

Thus my theory that it was sucked into the portal first.

Nope, if you look at panel three the arm that is on the ground has the Uber. In panel five, her hand is sticking out of the Uber, since it covers her arm and not the hand. In panel six her body is blocking the view of the arm with the Uber.

Aaaand what about the scarf uber? It just got flat-out left behind. Rather foolish to leave your invincible super-powered scarf on the ground when you have an unknown portal-looking thing.
That is, unless it got sucked in even more first.

Oh dear. Has the temporal and/or relocation finally caught up with Claire? Has she become the point of some kind of strange rubber band between her world and theirs? Or is it possible that something more sinister is going on? Has someone created a singularity of some sort at the entrance of the cave? Perhaps its all just a dream sequence! I suppose the only thing that will answer our questions is more pages.
